I have grumbled about Bootcamp almost from inception. Now comes Parrallels, and I find I can run it in a small screen on my Mac desktop, I can share files, I don’t have to reboot, it seems pretty fast, and lots of other good things. I’m a fairly heavy duty user, so other than cost, I don’t see any reason to use Bootcamp right now. Let Apple get it right and then maybe I’ll reconsider.
Question: Does Parrallels support Vista?
Was a good show this year. I learned a lot from the vendors (partly because my job is more encompassing now), found the general session speakers to be very good, and got a bit from the breakout sessions. Because we don’t get per deim here, I went to the client parties for dinners, and found them pretty satisfying. BlackBoard bought us all video game cards from Dave and Buster’s and fed us appetizers and liqour. I usually never ever get in on anything like that at these conventions, but this was all right. I didn’t meet anybody too interesting, though – it’s too big and rushed for networking. I’ll go again next year with some pretty high expectations.
